Under the name 'Hillywood Art', artist and designer Annika Versloot van der Velden creates unique, eccentric contemporary art with a strong memory of the past, intriguing fables and a touch of lush surrealism. In her work she brings together different eras, combining modern photography, historical footage and conventional techniques with digital culture. From this process emerges a special, fairytale-like connection between past and present.

Art by Hillywood Art has appeared in national and international media including OBJEKT, Elegance, Residence, World of Interiors and in the international film production by Carice van Houten and Halina Reijn, 'Red Light', that won two awards at the international television festival of Cannes.

In 2019, 2021 and 2023 she was selected for to be part of the prestigious Dutch Design festival 'Masterly The Hague' by curator Nicole Unicole and art connoisseur Willem Jan Hoogsteder.

Jan Taminiau, Dries van Noten and Anton Corbijn, among others, we also represented at this event.

In 2022 she was nominated for the FIABCN World Wide Artist Award. FIABCN is Barcelona's most established and famous contemporary art fair, established in 2011 in the architectural jewel of Gaudi, the Casa Batlló. The festival is supported by Taschen and Barcelona Cultura.

Her work was on the short lists for the BBA Art Prize 2022 in Berlin and the Luxembourg Art Prize 2022.
